Wearing a LuLaRoe Julia dress

Guys, I have been totally and completely slacking! I had big plans for this blog but life got in the way and unfortunately my blogging got pushed to the back burner. BUT I’M BACK! And have exciting news! The past 3 months I’ve been consumed with launching my own small business! I’m now an official LuLaRoe Retailer – find me at LuLaRoe Nicole Newman on Facebook!

Never heard of LuLaRoe? Well pull up a chair and let me tell you about it!

LuLaRoe is best known for their leggings – described as “buttery soft”. I guarantee you will NOT find a better pair of leggings. They hug you in all the right places and are unbelievable comfortable. But that’s not all! LuLaRoe offers women’s shirts, skirts, dresses, and layering pieces in sizes XXS – 3XL. We claim there is something for EVERYONE and we mean it. Whatever size or shape you are we have something that will make you feel beautiful, comfortable and confident.
If you’re looking to make a fashion statement, LuLaRoe is the way to do it. They are well known for their fun patterns and prints and there is a good chance nobody in your circle will have the same print as you. Why is that you ask? Only 2500 garments are made from the same print! And those are divided amongst all styles, all sizes, and all retailers! These items are NOT sold in stores, only through independent retailers so when you find a print you love you don’t need to worry about everyone wearing the same thing as you! LuLaRoe truly allows you to express your personality and be uniquely YOU!

I do plan to get back on a blogging schedule and LuLaRoe will be a big part of that. I’m so excited to share more about the brand, pictures, styling tips, and my experience as a small business owner. I hope you’ll stick around because the fun is just beginning!

Find me on Facebook and Instagram and join in on all the fun!

XOXO Nicole

You guys, this shirt is chambray and peplum…need I say more?!  Denim on denim is one of my favorite looks and the peplum detailing gives it a fresh spin.

The fit is a bit loose which is great for my post- baby body, but you might want to size down if looking to purchase this top. ( Also, it’s on sale right now plus you can get an extra 30% off ordering online so don’t wait!)

I found some tips for wearing double denim to avoid the dreaded Canadian Tuxedo look (no disrespect intended Canada!).  I paired it with some darker jeans, a black cardigan, and black flats for casual Friday at work, but this top would look great with white jeans and wedges as well for a spring date.

I’ve always trended toward a more casual style and now that I’m a mom this is even more so true. My outfits need to be functional enough to allow me to get down on the floor and play with Logan but still fashionable enough to leave me looking and feeling put together. Enter my mom uniform – denim, a cozy tee or sweater,  and comfy shoes.

This striped long sleeve tee from JCrew is on point.  Stripes are my jam and this shirt does not disappoint. It pairs great with denim pants or shorts and is light enough to be worn through both spring and summer.  I kept this outfit super simple for a day of running errands pairing it with comfy skinnies, Toms, and my favorite field jacket.

Old Navy had some great sales this past weekend, plus a super cash promotion so I took Logan out for a little shopping and scored some awesome deals.

Once Spring hits most days you’ll find me in a dress and Old Navy’s selection definitely did not disappoint. This linen blend dress is perfect for a casual weekend and this pleated swing dress could easily be dressed up for a function or night out.  I also love this sheath dress and this shirt dress for work.

This peplum top and these fun printed pants are certainly helping to round out my spring wardrobe.  Many of their sales are still happening so I’d recommend checking them out!

I couldn’t leave without grabbing something for Logan – I have a real obsession with buying baby clothes…it’s bad. But how can you say no to such cute outfits!

Hey all! Sorry for the radio silence the past few weeks – it’s proving to be more difficult than I thought balancing work, being a mom, and finding time to post here.  I am hoping to carve out some time to post more regularly though so please keep checking back!

Last week was a really long week at work so I mostly was looking forward to laying low in the house all weekend.  That didn’t stop me from doing a little online shopping though and I found some great deals.  Spring is in full force in the stores, and although we had SNOW here today, my mind is on dressing for the season.

Tank top // Gingham Bathing Suit // Rugby Stripe Shirt
Fringed Sandals // Tee Dress // Poncho

I naturally gravitate to more neutral colors that can easily mix and match into a complete outfit.  Given the little time I have to get ready most days I need options in my wardrobe that easily fit together.  All the above are also super comfortable – a huge plus when toting around a baby!

Speaking of the little guy I found some super cute pieces for him as well!  His daycare teachers recently told me he is the best dressed baby in their room – a reputation I intend on maintaining through the upcoming season!

Bodysuit // Socks // Pants

I’m looking forward to warm days with Logan and the opportunity to regularly get some fresh air.  What pieces are you eyeing for spring?

I loved overalls as a kid so was super excited to see them make a comeback.  I haven’t worn a pair in over 20 years though so I’m really curious to see how they fit as an adult.  Maybe it’s the fact that I turn 30 this year that has me drawn to them – a last ditch effort to avoid growing up!

This pair is super affordable (on sale for under 25!) so is the perfect opportunity to try out the trend without breaking the bank.

What do you all think?  Will you try out adult overalls?

I’m having a moment for over-the-knee (OTK) boots.  In all honesty I wasn’t sold on the trend initially, but the more they pop up in stores the more they have peaked my interest.  I’ve seen them styled with jeans and dresses alike and am really digging the look!  I’ve found a couple options you can get for a steal, treat yourself and splurge on, or save your pennies for.

Have you jumped on the OTK boot bandwagon?  I’d love to know how you wore them!

If you’ve seen the news in the past 48 hours you know that Winter Storm Jonas hammered the east coast leaving upwards of 30 inches in some areas.  Where I am in Connecticut we got a modest 6 inches making this the first substantial snowfall of the season – shocking considering we are almost into February.  This also means it is Logan’s first official snowday!  While he is still too little to play out in the snow we did get bundled up to go check it out.
